Stephen Lord is the actor who portrays the recurring character Warren Roper on Penny Dreadful. Stephen Lord (born 1 October 1972) is a British actor probably best known for playing Jase Dyer in the BBC soap opera EastEnders between 2007-2008 and Dominic Meak in Shameless.

Personal life[]

Stephen is married to Elaine Cassidy. The couple married on 31 December 2007. The couple welcomed their first child daughter Kíla Lord Cassidy, on Wednesday, 16 September 2009. Baby girl’s first name is pronounced “Key-la.” They live in Greenwich, Greater London. Their second child, a son named Lynott Lord Cassidy, was born around 23 January 2013.

BBC EastEnders violence incident[]

The BBC defended the use of violent scenes in an edition of EastEnders. In the episode Stephens Lord's character Jase Dyer was seen losing his life following a confrontation with a group of gangsters who stabbed him after brutally beating him up. Later, the character's dead body was seen by viewers in hospital scenes which featured Jase's son Jay Brown, played by Jamie Borthwick.

Casualty domestic violence[]

Stephen appeared in the BBC drama series Casualty in 2010-11 playing the abusive husband of nurse Kirsty Clements (played by Lucy Gaskell) in an on-going storyline dealing with domestic violence.

Stephen Lord was nominated for Best Newcomer at the British Soap Awards.
